Wow. Hard to believe the last time I posted on this thing was when Skippy diied. Yowzoozas that seems like along time ago.
We didn't stay dogless for very long. I felt that I didn't want to start with a puppy - feeling that there were too many dogs that needed rescuing. And Roberta agreed to look into it.
We found and hooked up with Wisconson Shelty Rescue run aby an obsessed and very loving woman (Lisa) on the east shore of Lake Winnebago. After our application was accepted (and...Read Full Post »

And so anyway although ...
I used to use that as a lead for Journal Entries in a writing class @ Long Beach City College - Lib Arts Campus (Hello Alan Bundy) who, in spite of his being very open minded and encouraging about giving us freedom from "writing rules," wanting his students to feel we could just write without worrying about punctuation, or criticism, absolutely hated that phrase. Sorry Alan, I still like it.

Nothing is as nothing does ...and I'm looking at this little website for 1st time in a long time and thinking it's been a couple three years or so and where did I want to go with it? And I dug real deep into my mind and I got ... nothing.
I'm not into spending endless hours on the computer and that's probably a good thing (for me anyway).
I have a messed up left shoulder and will have surgery March 2nd. So even though I'm right handed, typing and mouse p...Read Full Post »

Long Time Gone
Current mood: cheerful
So it's been like 2 months since I posted a blog. Doubt that anybody noticed. All the usual stuff still going on: work, family, sleep, eat, doggie, take care of living a full life (with 5 kids and 4 grandkids between us, a horse, & a doggie mean there's usually no shortage of activities). I held down the homestea...Read Full Post »

Plenty ol' hot here in cheesehead land finally, not that I'm all excited about it. Had too much "Hot" growing up in Sacramento (people used to drop dead every year at the State Fair) and then from '80-'90 in San Berdoo. Got a bit tired of it. And it's humid as hell here when it's hot, and I'm married to a woman who hates Air Conditioning, actually can't tolerate it very much at all, gets sick, the whole deal. So we compromise and do ... Once upon a time there were two brothers.
One brother was very mischievous, always getting into trouble.
The other brother, however, was very good. He was always kind to animals, helped elderly neighbors, and led an exemplary life.
As time went on, the brothers stayed in touch but were never close.
The evil brother became a heavy drinker and a womanizer.
The other brother was a devoted husband and father and supported many charities.
One day the evil brother died.

Current mood: sad
A bad couple of days for sadness and craziness.
One of my co-workers had a nephew and a couisin and 2 of their freinds get caught up in & shot in a drive by gang shooting in Chicago last weekend. The cousin died, and the nephew is on life support with massive clotting in his brain. I met the nephews sister last year at a dinner when...Read Full Post »
